Diversity is everywhere around us. It is the rocks and mountains, the cliffs and sand. All that nature and landscape that is not alive but is the foundation of life. Thus, diversity and biodiversity work together.

Diversity is a resource that people have utilized from the beginning to improve their quality of life. From diversity come, for example, building materials, fertilizers, and nutrients for agriculture, as well as stones for decoration and ornamentation.

Diversity serves water in many ways. Water filters through layers of earth that purify and store the groundwater we drink.

Vatnajökull National Park is on UNESCO's World Heritage List due to the interaction of tectonic plates, mantle plumes, and ice caps. Diversity is the basis for the diverse landscape that locals and tourists seek. The national park preserves diverse natural monuments that shape the landscape and have influenced the people and history of the country.
