Today road F909 to Snæfellsskáli Hut was opened by the Icelandic Road Administration. This is approximately half a month later than in a normal year, due to extremely heavy snow conditions last winter. From Snæfellsskáli Hut towards Vatnajökull glacier the road F909 remains closed until further notice.

Another return for Eckerd College students

For the third year running Vatnajökull National Park has received a group of students from Eckerd College in Florida, USA. In total, it is the fourth time a group from Eckerd College arrives in Iceland, but their visit is a part of a volunteer program that Eckerd students participate in as a part of their studies.
