Hiking in Vatnajökull National Park

The great variety of trails within the park or the protected areas which it supervises allow nearly anyone to find routes which are lengthy or short enough, and easy or challenging as desired. While some are marked with posts, others are not, but trail maps for the main areas of the park can be obtained at visitor or information centres and from park rangers. These maps contain such route details as distances and difficulty ratings.
